In the process of enhancing their Business App by incorporating a new and convenient functionality for users to settle a diverse range of bills; this covers various essentials such as airtime, mobile data, electricity, and more.

This feature is designed to streamline the bill payment process within their App, providing their users with added convenience and accessibility in managing their financial transactions.

The primary objective of this project was to design a comprehensive financial feature, to seamlessly incorporate both the mobile version and a web dashboard

Constraints

User Interface Consistency

Balancing consistency between the mobile version and the web dashboard was a critical challenge. I needed to harmonize the user experience across different platforms ensuring that each was optimized for its specific context.

Ease of use

I was tasked with creating a product that catered to both individual consumers and business clients. Striking a balance between customizability for businesses and simplicity for individual users was another significant challenge

My Solutions

To achieve UI consistency, I used a unified design language by following the company’s design system to maintain a familiar look and feel across both the mobile version and the dashboard. This ensured that users could seamlessly transition between devices without encountering a jarring user experience.

Intuitive Mobile Experience

The mobile version offers a clean and intuitive interface for individuals, making it easy to manage personal finances and execute transactions on the go.

Real time Notification and alerts

Users receive instant alerts on their mobile devices and dashboard for various bills being paid. This adds an element of convenience to the financial management experience, reinforcing its position as a cutting-edge financial technology solution.

Takeaway and Reflection

The key takeaway is that designing a product for financial management requires unwavering attention to detail, strong security measures, and a deep understanding of user preferences.

In retrospect, the opportunity to work on OurPass Bill Payment has been a rewarding experience, emphasizing the importance of user-centric design in the financial technology sector. As the product designer, my journey with this project has enriched my understanding of the nuances of financial applications.

I've created a financial tool that not only aligns with the highest standards of security and compliance but also provides a seamless and empowering experience for both individual users and businesses.
